NEW DELHI: Air India’s work from home (WFH) program for its employees finally ends on July 20th. Post this, “offices will function in full strength” and employees will have to attend offices, otherwise, they will be marked absent.
Meenakshi Kashyap issued a staff notice stating that the decision has been taken after the unlock was announced by the government. She further stated that “It has now been decided that all Air India offices will function in full strength effective July 20th, 2020, and no separate roster for functioning under COVID-19 situation is to be operated. Employees who do not attend office w.e.f 20.07.2020 will have to apply for leave or shall be marked absent.”
Due concerns are given to employees living in containment zones and, therefore, are barred from this order. Such employees, along with a copy of the notification, will have to inform the office immediately. They are also required to update the office about the status of containment in their locality.
“Work from home option can be considered for employees who are at higher risk due to medical conditions, pregnant women, and employees staying in containment zones”, Kashyap added.
