Job Description
Location: Gurgaon Reporting to – VP (GRC Head) Span for Control- Travel Desk Team, Transport and HOTAC management, Contracts and compliances. Role Purpose: To lead the Crew Logistics function for Air India Express, ensuring safe, compliant, cost-efficient, and crew-centric delivery of accommodation, transport, ticketing, and support services. The role focuses on operational excellence, digitalization, automation, and strong vendor governance. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate readiness and flexibility to take on broader administration responsibilities as the organization scales. Key Responsibilities: Crew Logistics Operations: - Own end-to-end crew logistics operations including HOTAC, transport, deadheading, allowances, crew tracking, and support services across the network. - Ensure continued crew support during normal operations, disruptions, and IRROPs. - Ensure logistics actions do not lead to operational delays or avoidable costs. Policies, SOPs & Governance: - Implement, maintain, and continuously improve crew logistics policies, SOPs, manuals, and redundancy procedures. - Drive standardization across bases to ensure consistent crew experience and compliance. - Ensure adherence to company policies, DGCA requirements, and internal governance standards. Digital Enablement & Process Improvement: - Drive adoption of existing digital tools and lead incremental automation initiatives. - Identify manual, non-scalable activities and convert them into process- or system-driven solutions. - Work closely with IT, Digital, and Operations teams to enhance crew logistics platforms. Audit, Compliance & Risk Management: - Conduct internal audits, quality checks, and compliance reviews. - Identify operational, financial, and safety risks and ensure corrective actions. - Monitor audit findings and embed learnings into training and SOPs. Cost Control & Vendor Management: - Drive cost optimization across hotels, transport, meals, and deadheading. - Manage vendor onboarding, performance reviews, SLA adherence, and issue resolution. - Lead managers, executives, and shift teams in a 24x7 environment. - Conduct performance reviews, training needs assessment, and refresher programs. - Build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Stakeholder Management: - Act as the primary interface with OCC, Flight Operations, Inflight Services, HR, Finance, IT, and vendors. - Provide timely updates and data-driven insights to senior leadership. Extended Administration Responsibilities: - Demonstrate willingness and capability to take on additional administration responsibilities beyond crew logistics, including broader vendor administration, facilities coordination, contracts support, and ad-hoc operational admin functions, as required. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): - Crew logistics cost efficiency - Audit scores and compliance levels - Crew satisfaction and grievance closure TAT - Vendor SLA adherence and billing accuracy - Operational resilience during disruptions Skills & Competencies: - Strong operational execution and leadership skills - Process, audit, and compliance orientation - Cost optimization and vendor management experience - Ability to lead teams in a high-pressure, 24x7 aviation environment - Effective communication and decision-making skills Experience & Qualifications: - 10-15 years of experience in airline operations / crew logistics / crew case - Hands-on experience with HOTAC, crew transport, accommodation, and IRROPs - Exposure to digital tools and automation initiatives preferred - Bachelor’s degree required; Hotel Management / Operations background preferred Note* Aviation Indeed does not charge any fees for interviews or recruitment from candidates.
