Role Overview The Electrical Design Engineer will support project development, engineering design, technical documentation, estimating activities, and utility coordination for Solar PV and EV Charging Infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, sales, and project management teams to develop efficient, compliant, and cost-effective electrical solutions. Key Responsibilities Electrical Design & Engineering • Develop electrical designs, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), panel schedules, load calculations, and equipment layouts. • Assess existing electrical infrastructure and determine project feasibility. • Prepare technical drawings and engineering documentation. • Support permit applications and utility submission packages. • Assist project execution teams during installation and commissioning activities. Proposal & Estimating Support • Review project requirements and site information. • Support technical proposal preparation and project costing. • Perform equipment sizing and quantity take-offs. • Provide design recommendations and technical support to internal stakeholders. • Identify project risks, assumptions, and cost drivers. Utility & Regulatory Coordination • Assist with utility interconnection applications and approval processes. • Coordinate with utilities, municipalities, and regulatory authorities. • Track technical submissions and project approvals. Continuous Learning & Development • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and engineering best practices. • Participate in technical training and professional development initiatives. • Support process improvements and engineering excellence initiatives. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related discipline. • 4-5 years of experience in Electrical Design Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or related fields. • Experience preparing electrical drawings and technical documentation. • Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, power distribution systems, and protection concepts. • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software. • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Solar PV projects. • Experience with EV Charging Infrastructure projects. • Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). • Familiarity with utility interconnection processes. • Experience supporting project estimating and proposal development. • Working knowledge of tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, OpenSolar, EPLAN, or similar engineering software.
